August

Brazil.
I was extremely fortunate to be able to do 2 shoots in Brazil recently. The first with an amazing team in the beautiful old town of PirenĂ³polis. Turned out to be an incredibly special day which I will always remember.

Gorgeous 14 yr old model Keyla in the river ...once she had been carefully arranged, one of my eagle eyed assistants noticed that the rock was patchy from the water we had put in Keyla's hair so we had to drench the whole rock with water to make it even!

The final shot

Life in Perinopolis - normal to them, amazing to me.
They seemed to understand my Portuguese...!
The amazing designers - snapping the action.

These ladies were pretty much everywhere, in peoples houses and shop windows.

My team! Thanks to all of you.

My second shoot was kids fashion, with gorgeous little model, Camila. We shot in an equally pretty location - the old town of Goias.

This shot was unbelievably lucky - I saw this old man selling ice creams and asked his permission in my broken Portuguese if I could take his photo.  Then Camila and her mum came back from finding a restaurant for lunch and she sat down next to him and started chatting so the opportunity was too good to miss! Camila is 5 and incredibly inquisitive so she didn't need direction to pick up the ice cream cart lid! Perfect!

She tried to climb around that wall for some time before she looked up and gave me a proud smile!

An amazing child-height phone box!

Having fun.

Below....there are many ways to say no more photos...

"I will not wear this hat."

"You cant see me..."

In a beautiful old town even a man up a ladder can look interesting...

"I will still not wear this hat."

Market life...

The restaurant kitchen, where our amazing lunch was cooked...the food in small villages runs out quickly so you have to get to a restaurant by 12 really, or go hungry...

Another lady watching us...

Camila taking a break in the restaurant.

A home made diving board on the river... stronger than it looks!

Thanks to Susley Lima and of course, Camila, for making this happen. Thanks also to my husband, Marcos, for being the most patient assistant and reflector holder!

Shoot with actress Lela Moutsakis

Had a great day working with lovely actress Lela Moutsakis last week. She lives in an amazing converted studio with a load of interesting spots - including an ancient milk float!

I am so happy to be working with the very talented jewellery designer and model, Mei-Li Rose. She has had some of the work we shot for her previous collection in the Kensington and Chelsea Review this week, so we are very excited!

We shot her latest collection last week in Ruskin Park, on what turned out to be a beautiful sunny day and made a special new furry friend who tried to get into each shot!

Mei-Li added a few tweaks to the jewellery...
The very talented Gillian and Nikola working their magic.

Its tough being designer AND model...

Our latest model who tried to get into every shot...

Then more wildlife arrived - with babies!

"My Stolen Soul" Shoot - ( so named as the model looks like a native American and they believed their souls were stolen if their photograph was taken. Well thats my story and I'm sticking to it! )

Glam huh?

The very talented Suze, doing both hair and make up.

"Daydreamer" Shoot. This was originally planned to be an urban street look but the weather forecast was a mini heatwave so quickly reworked the idea and shot a bit of girlyness in the lovely Brockwell Park.

At work in my flat - then a walk to the park.

MUA Suze and Mei-Li!
